What do I need to bring with me if I'm a new patient? Please bring a copy of your child's immunization form, a picture ID of the adult accompanying the child, and the insurance card that insures your child. Please note, that if you have a primary care physician (PCP) listed on your insurance card, then Cumberland Pediatrics or one of its doctors MUST be listed as the PCP. If not, we cannot see you and you will be asked to re-schedule your appointment.
Do I have to make a co-payment every time I'm seen? YES, co-payments are paid before you can be seen. Remember, a co-payment is your agreement with your insurance company and we are obligated to collect it.
Do I need my insurance card each time I visit? YES, there are no exceptions.
Do I need to make an appointment every time my child needs to be seen? YES, we are NOT a walk-in clinic. However, if your child is sick, please call as soon as possible to schedule a same day appointment.
Do you take Medicaid/PeachCare? YES, if we are the listed primary care physician (PCP).
What insurances do you accept? We accept most major insurances, but call us first to be sure.
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also accept cash and checks.
May I be billed? Not for co-payments. For deductibles, we expect you to pay a percentage of the visit amount upfront and we will bill you for the balance.
Are you affiliated with any hospitals? Yes, we are affiliated with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and its three hospitals: Scottish Rite, Egleston and Hughes Spalding. Regardless of where your child is born, if you would like us to be your pediatricians – just let the hospital staff know.
Will the doctors visit the babies in the hospital after they are born? No, so please inform the doctors on call that we will be your child's pediatrician and schedule an appointment with us within the first ten days of your child's birth, or earlier, if the hospital-based physician feels it's necessary.
May I meet the doctors before my child becomes a patient? Please feel free to schedule an appointment with the front office staff and they will be happy to show you around the office – (we encourage first time parents to do this).
Is there a schedule of physician visits I should keep with my child ? We generally recommend the following schedule: 1 week of age (after discharge), 1 month of age, 2 months of age, 4 months of age, 6 months of age, 9 months of age, 12 months of age, 15 months of age, 18 months of age and 2 years. After 2 years, once a year. After 5 years, once every two years.

What are your hours? We open at 7:45am Monday through Friday (9am on Thursday), except major holidays. Please see our home page for detailed times we are open and closed.
Do you allow site visits? YES, please call to schedule your site visit.
